AARP SAFE DRIVING COURSE
Tuesday, November 22, 10 am—3 pm (
MR)
AARP Smart Course could earn you a discount on your automobile insurance premiums for three to five years—and you will be a better driver. Participants will receive a certificate that may be honored at your insurance agency. $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-members. Pre-register by
November 15 by calling the Center, 502-223-5794. Space is limited. “Red” Grange  will be the instructor for the course. And there will be a short lunch break.

DIABETES 101

November is National Diabetes Month, and Clinical Nutritionist Kayla Anderson, Frankfort Regional Medical Center, will visit. She’ll discuss what diabetes is and is not, what signs and symptoms to look for and the best ways to manage and/or prevent diabetes through diet, exercise, glucose monitoring and medication use.

RED PLANET DAY

Red Planet Day, Nov 28,  commemorates the launch of the Mariner 4 spacecraft in 1964. Mariner 4 performed the first successful flyby of the planet Mars. Dan Price, a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, will join us to talk about the planet, Mars.

This is a game show. The MC plays part of a tune associated with an old TV show. You get to name that show.


SHARE THE LOVE—CRAM THE SUBARU

This is Capital City’s traditional holiday dinner. Ham and all the trimmings. In addition, friends from Quantrell Subaru in Lexington will lend us a Subaru so we can fill it with canned goods and non-perishable items for the food pantry. If you’d like to join us for lunch, please call the Center, 502-223-5794 to make a reservation. And help us cram the Subaru.

DECORATE COOKIES DAY

Join Kim and others to decorate your own half-dozen Christmas sugar cookies. The Center will provide all the fixings; just come with your creative ideas, talent and desire to decorate. Call the Center, 502-223-5794 to sign up so Kim knows how many cookies to bake.

Heroes Day honors the people we look up to and who inspire us to be the best person we can possibly be. This year the Glitterbugs will help us honor our first responders, our military and our veterans.
