Medicare SHIP Counseling

About to turn 65 in the near future? Trying to figure out what to do about Medicare Advantage and/or Part D open enrollment programs at annual renewal time?

The Kentucky State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides information, counseling and assistance to seniors and disabled individuals, their families and caregivers. This service is provided at no charge by local, well-trained counselors. The program seeks to educate the general public and Medicare beneficiaries so they are better able to make informed decisions about their health care. SHIP does not sell any health insurance products.

Trained counselors from the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) volunteer at the Senior Activity Center to help seniors with Medicare, Medicaid and/or Social Security issues. During the year, they volunteer twice a month to help with Social Security and Medicare insurance issues. During open enrollment time, the SHIP counselors volunteer twice a week.

Call the Center, 502-223-5794, for more information or to sign up.
